Feliç Sant Jordi!!
Ha! So tomorrow, actually it will probably be today by the time I finish writing this (it's 23:50 right now). Ok, so on the 23th of April we celebrate Sant Jordi (La Diada de Sant Jordi. You can really escape everything from the wikipedia until you reach the part that talks about "Catalonia"), wich is one of the most wonderful festivities ever. I promise you, it really is.
I bet you know the St. George's legend, well, it all revolves around it.
"The tale says long ago a kingdom was terrified by a horrible dragon. The dragon would eat every single animal from that kingdom, and when there where no more animals left, the people of the kingdom decided that they would sacrifice someone everyday to keep the dragon satisfied and their kingdom, safe.
The name of the one who would be sacrified was found out thanks to a draw, and all names of the kingdom had a chance of being selected, even the king's family.
One day, the name that came out was the princess' name, and that broke the heart of everyone in the kingdom, but they had made a decision, and it should be fair for everyone. The princess was not scared, for her sacrifice would help her people.
She was left alone in the door of that monster's big cave, but before the dragon could open the mouth to eat her, a knight riding a white horse appeared out of nowhere and killed the dragon crossing his heart with a long spear.
When the princess was thanking the knight for his bravery and helping not only her but her kingdom too, suddently, from the blood of the dragon grew a rose bush, from which the knight grabbed one rose and handed it to the princess."
Here comes the tradition according to which the boys have to gift a rose (I'd rather red roses but nowadays you can have them in every single colour) and the girl will gift back a book. (And that's where I'm going with all of this)
The book thing started not so long ago, and it was because of something historically relevant for us and our culture, and the books became, with the roses, the main characters of this festivity. And I can't help to think that it's trully wonderful the fact that it's a day in wich we're celebrating books and reading and how wonderful that is. And the streets from the cities are filled with street stalls with books and roses. And it's like a little wonderful day.
Nowadays, even tough it's true that mostly only guys gift roses, the book thing goes both ways, so if you gift a book you'll most probably be given a book too. Or you can buy it for yourself. It's like a cuter, only roses and books, V-day, from here. 'Cause as you might have guessed, the roses thing works for couples, or people who's closely attached to you, but not for everyone.
And as for the drawing, I didn't have much time, but I wanted to do something special for today (it's been today for 26 minutes now), so I took a break from that one big drawing I'm working on, and did this.
H0pe you all like the poor dragon who was only a little bit hungry. I never understood why a "I don't know who you are" knight that came out of nowhere was the hero, but well, that might be the reason I love pairing the princess and the dragon happy together, without no white knight to destroy their peace.
Goodnight! Hope what I wrote made sense, because I'm 100% sure there are many mistakes, I just don't wanna go through it now, it's late and I need some sleep.
Feliç Sant Jordi!!
ps. You can send me a rose if you want to, it would be nice! :)

The Crow
Her frozen hand
Taskes your breath away
As she ñeads your soul
Through the dark.
You know that she came
To break your heart
But oh when she moves
You fall in love again
She spreads her wings
When she's gonna fly...
The Crow
If you make her sing
When she's coming
She will let you know
She spreads her wings
And they black out the sun
You won't hear her sing
And she'll leave
When the damage is done
The Crow - Hurts
Just a piece inspired by Hurts' new song The Crow, I've had this idea for a while, but today, sketching, it came out like this and I liked it enough to "almost" finish it.
I don't think there's much to say, the lyrics say it all. Hope you like it.
