Lost on a frozen forest

"And the road's still long but you come along and you hold my hand and you understand.."

I was trying around things and doing sketches for a project and somehow I did this in half an hour?? quite proud of this sketch. Had so much fun drawing the fox.

Now back to more work.

Snowy Day

I keep wishing for one..

Telling you the truth, I don't think I've ever been out there with snow really falling down, not the way it all turns to be white, with the mist, the snow falling and the grown covered in the snow that has been falling down.
Here it's much more of seeing it pretty much like a rain - snowfall. It hardly ever covers the ground, and the few times it has happened there's been trouble. But still I dream of it.

And I know it happens to not fit in this days of hot summer, but maybe for that very same fact, I wanted to draw something cold. But also because I've been watching (and hope I'll be able to read too) North & South. Which translates to really cold days and landscapes, and so much white (I feel in love with all the mills scenes, when cotton looks like snow), so I guess all in all, I couldn't help myself. I really wanted to draw a snowy landscape, cold, and white, really white with the mist and the white sky and ground as well as the snowflakes softly falling down.

Also I did it to practice the mood of a drawing, when colours, siluettes.. well, everyithing! works together to express something.

Hope you like it

Dec 17: A Christmas Surprise

I think we will be made clean like the snow
I think we will become new like the snow..

Snow - The Innocence Mission

I'm pretty busy this days, not to say it's the last week before the Holidays break and I have to do so many thinks for Univeristy.. so so many. I don't even know how I took time to made this, tomorrow I'll have to pay the price for this.

But I'm not complaining, I just love drawing, I love it so much that I don't care if I have to find time out of nowhere to do it. The only thing that makes me sad is not being able to spend as much time as I would like to with them. (This one a day thing is getting me a little mad, but I'm still keeping this on!)

Hope you're ejoying this last days before the break, and that you are lucky and got to see the snow, or will soon. And if you do, think of a girl who'll have to spend her Holidays studying and most probably, there will be no snow outside to bright her heart. But maybe, if I wish stong enough, then.. maybe..

Dec 9: It's snowing outside!

.. and that cheers me up.

It would, if it was really snowing here, but it isn't. I hope I'll get to see snow this year, if only a little.

I just wanted to point out that I did not get my cup of hot chocolate, yet, but instead eat a little bit of a chocolate bar, which is, indeed, pretty good.
As you might see, I'm a lot better than I've been this last days! but now I have a lot of work to do, to catch up what I haven't done this last days.  I'm almost done with it, but not yet.

Anyway, if it's snowing where you are, I hope you're really enjoying it and, if you go oustide to play in the snow you know Jack Frost will nip at your nose!

Dec 5: It's finally Done!

It feels great when you finish your snowman, and you sit on the snow, so cold, but in a way, so warm, and just stay there, looking at what you've done. It's wearing your warm clothes and it's smiling at you, and, at the very first moment you think of a name, it becomes he.

I've always enjoyed doing snowmans, but it doesn't really snow here (just like once in a few years) and when it does, it's never much, so you don't have much snow to work with, and I've never ever done one which was taller than my hips, but I loved them anyway. And they were always there till the snow melted away..

The name of this piece has two meanings, as you can probably guess by "when" I'm posting this (11:30 pm, aprox). I've struggled hard today to get something done, but finally I'm happy about what I ended up with. It's cold and it's snowy!

ps. Tomorrow I'll hang up my Christmas decorations... can't wait!

Snowflakes Are Dancing

It might just be for a few minutes or just some seconds, but that is enough. In that short time, as snowflakes fall from the sky, they dance. They dance in such a majestuous way! They go up and down, turning and turning around, one hand raised, eyes closed, slow movements and a soft breeze to guide them. When they finally get to the ground, they fade with the snow and die. But if you look closely, you will see their happy faces because they are glad to give you the best performance you have ever seen.

Been listening to a wonderful album all night called "Snowflakes are Dancing", done by Isao Tomita, and well, you know, snowflakes are dancing! I actually thought some small text would sweet it and maybe make it a little bit magic, so I made up something. I'm just so glad I've been introduced to this album, I'm really, really thankful. So.. Thanks!

Those tunes are just really wonderful, and things like this drawing above are the ones that came to my mind while listening to it, as well as the text. I don't know really, but I'm glad this came out the way it did, I just hope this next winter I'll see some snow. I really hope so!

I've used as a small reference, maybe more a guide than a reference, Disney's snowflakes from Fantasy, 'cause I've always thought those where wonderful, and wanted to do something like that. Hope you'll like this one. And I hope there's more magic to come!

In The Snow

I was just doodling around and started doing this.. and yeah, It was inspired by Tumnus (the idea at least) actually she was not wearing a scarf at first, but then a lovely snowy melody played and I thought it would be wonderful that she could be standing there in the snow, and thought that she might get cold, so I added the scarf (it seems it's enough with that to stay a little bit warm..)

The idea, actually, was that she was living on our world but had come from another magical world (just like when you go to Narnia, or some other magical place, but the other way round) and had been living at our world since she was pretty young, that's why she's wearing a dress, 'cause she grew used at all that stuff. And it's supposed to be around the 20's, 'cause I like it, that's all the reasons why.
Maybe she wishes to go back to where she belongs, or maybe she's alright where she is, who knows?

Hope yo like it, I was missing all the drawing stuff 'cause I've been reading all this days (whenever I had some free time) and I did not much drawing, and what I did, I did it in the traditional way, I don't think any of that will get posted here, maybe just one of all those drawings.. I don't know, I'm still thinking about that, not pretty sure of it.
