Christmas Lights With You

And finally we'll get to see the lights together, of only for once.

I watched Desolation of Smaug the other day, and I gotta say, all in all, I love this two. I was listening to Paradise Stars by Noah and the Whale and I broke down into tears.
I just want them to hang out one day and look at the stars together and feel free and be happy. They are both so young and they don’t quite buy all the stuff they are being told, and I think they feel really close to each other, they understand each other in a simple way. And I love that. Like when you find someone who shares your same sensitivities and you can’t believe there’s someone out there who understand you. It feels magical.

Still on a holidays mood!

Nighttime Christmas

Marceline and Bubblegum Christmas

..it can be really sweet too!

I wanted to do some Christmas pieces, I am starting to get in the mood already, and then saw an ep of Adventure Time and my mind just clicked, and now here it is, Princess Bubblegum and Marceline share their Christmas presents, and I'm sure PB loves her mug present, deep inside! (or maybe not that deep)

Have a wonderful day!

A Vampire's Amusement

So pull me closer and kiss me hard
I'm gonna pop your bubblegum heart

- Marina and the Diamonds

Because I couldn't help myself when I listened to Bubblegum bitch, and pretty much, 'cause I saw a lovely, lovely drawing done based on that song, too. So yep, PB and Marceline. They're so sweet! (silly joke)

This was meant to be a warm up doodle, and indeed it is, it's just that it took too much time? Well, now's time to go back to work.

ps. ....can you see the heart??

PB and Marceline!

Maybe by next summer we won't have changed our tune

Hey! I'm back and with so much time to spend on drawing stuff!! :)

Started this the other day and I wanted to do smth quick, but well, it didn't turn out to be that quick, I guess I gotta work on being faster at doing simple stuff or at least, at not complicating it when I decided I would keep it simple.

PB and Marceline from Adventure Time, because I love the show and I don't think I've posted many fanart online, which is a pitty 'cause I tend to do a lot! I love how those two change looks so much, so you can literally play and do whatever you want with them.

I am gonna work on finishing stuff this month, drawings I started months ago, but due to exams and work I could never get to finish them, and others which I could only get sketched.

I'm also gonna make some sketchdumps of the drawings I did during this months but never got to post. Most of them only sketches and doodles I did on my sketchbook or the notes from class, but I love them anyway and want them to get somewhere, not to just grab dust in a notebook.

Hope you're enjoying this first days of June, I am surely doing so! Though it feels weird to have free time, I never know what to do with myself 'cause I keep thinking I cannot get anything new started because I'll have an exam to study or smth.. haha, my mind needs to get used at this.

Well, Vacations at last! And so many ideas on my mind, I mean it! so many!! Hope I can work them out somehow.

Hoping the summer is gonna be good!

Happy Easter!

"Easter is new beginnings. New life. Easter's about hope." - Bunnymund.

Happy Easter everyone (or Pascua, as we would say here). I don't know if it was quite obvious I would draw Bunnymund from The Guardians to celebrate this Easter. I just tought that the idea of him, happy about having easter and celebrating it was a really nice tought.

I know it would be better if it was warmer, but we are getting there. At least here, you can feel that the weather is, slowly, changing.

Hope you have a wonderful Easter, and weather you collect eggs, eat chocolate cakes, eggs and every single thing you could imagine made of chocolate (we do it here, and we call it "Mona de Pascua") or whatever thing you do this day, hope you enjoy it!

Happy Easter everyone! I'm sure the Easter Bunny will make an exception an eat chocolate today!

Why I was there and what I was meant to do..

.., that I've never known, and a part of me wonders if I ever will.

Saw Rise Of The Guardians again the other day, and as expeted, loved it, again! The fact is that, this time, as I've read the books, there were so many things I knew and why they were there. It broke my heart even more..

There doesn't seem to be anyone able to escape pain in the series, but still, there's joy, there's so much hapiness and trying, even if failing once or twice, or as many times as necessary to finally, get it right.

I've been drawing Jack mostly, and I can't get over the tought of so many years of solitude, of not being belived in, of not knowing why he was there and was able to do what he did, why nobody believed in him.. why the moon didn't talk to him but to tell him his name. But still, Jack is this one character able to find light and joy, no matter how dark the times are, maybe that's why I like him so much, because he never really gives in.

About years of solitude, I'm not going to talk about that big goose I think I spotted twice in the movie, into North place, nor about how Nightlight spend thousands of years all alone into darkness, and I won't even mention Pitch.. ughh

Still dream..

Nightlight and an Old Friend

“Nightlight, bright light,
Sweet dreams I bestow.
Sleep tight, all night.
Forever I will glow”

Some nights, if you listen closely, you can hear a soft melody in the night air. You better know that is  Nightlight, singing his lullaby to keep you warm. And on dark nights, when the clouds are hiding the moon, he will jump over those clouds and sing to comfort his old friend.

If you follow me on any other social media, the fact that I'm obsessing about The Guardians of Childhood (and Rise of The Guardians too) won't be anything new to you.
I am really ejoying the tenderness that comes from this books, they're like a little treasure, just as the movie was. They bring me joy, and happiness, but also tears and worries. All the characters in these books have their backround, and they all have had to overcome their own problems to be where they're now. But everything they've been and they've become makes me love them.

If you wanna fill yourself with joy, go see the movie (which actually, came out on DVD yesterday) and read the books! read them! You'll really enjoy yourself, and I know I say I'm crying about their stories a lot, but everything's worth it.

When I finished the first novel of the series, I had to pick another one for university, but no matter how good that author was, it felt empty and cold, and then I realised how warmed inside I felt by this series, and felt even more in love with them. Even though they're not perfect, there's no need, little treasured memories never are, nor drawings.

So hope you like this little drawing I did today. It's Nightlight, who first appears in The Man in the Moon, and who I loved immediatelly, and no, he's not safe from sad stories, but his heart is so gentle it could melt the coldest darkness...

ps. Can yo see the smile on the moon??

Toothiana

A little sketch I posted a few days ago on tumblr but now I've decided to post it here too. I just like the way it easily turned out.
Still drawing RoTG stuff, but it helps when I have to deal with lots of work to do.

This time I didn't make the mistake I made with Pitch's drawing, which started out being only a sketch, but I started paitning it and so, had to finish it, which meant it took me a lot of time, time I do not have. Anyway, enjoyed myself doing that one drawing, as well as I enjoyed myself doing this one. So I guess it's all alright.

Anyway, hope you're having good days, here it feels like spring, the sun is shinning bright, and the sky's blue and there are wonderful big white clouds and it's warm outside. I simply love this time of the year when you feel you're leaving the winter behind. And, as long as I love, trully love autumn, and those days at the end of the summer when you feel autumn's gonna come, I still think Spring is my favourite season.

Counting the days until Spring's here..

The Nightmare King

...just to let in some fresh air.

I've been reading RoTG books, and even though I'm still scraching the surface of everyone's backround, I have already come across a little bit of Pitch's backround and.. oh! so sad, and I guess it's gonna get sadder..

Anyway, I just started this as a little fun, but ended up spending yesterday's afternoon on it. It was well worth it anyway. Been enjoying the "cleaning up the lines" thing lately.

A thing I love about his design is that "his eyes resemble an eclipse" but more than just a "he's the villian thus he hides the sun and light" reference, I feel it's also a "Hiding smth inside" reference. I don't know. Still gotta get through more of his backround.

I loved "The Man On The Moon" story, and cried because of his saddest story, so don't doubt I'll cry too with Pitch's one.

ps. That quote on the top is a reference to the story, may the ones that have read the book understand it, but it won't spoil it if you haven't yet. Btw, go read the books, they're wonderful!!

Be Brave

I will hear their every story,
Take hold of my own dream,
Be as strong as the seas are stormy,
And proud as an eagle's scream.

I will ride, I will fly,
Chase the wind and touch the sky,
I will fly,
Chase the wind and touch the sky.

Touch the Sky - Julie Fowlis (Brave's Soundtrack)

Last Sunday my friends came to me saying that they wanted to see Brave, and almost one week later, guess what we're going to see this afternoon??? Friends, movie and sofa!!! :)

It also needs saying, that I've been pretending to draw Merida for a long time now. I love, love, love her hair. It's all wild and free and it goes here and there. And also, the ginger is precious, bright colours that shine through the darkness of the deep enchanted forests.

I don't even know what I'm saying, I just love this tales a lot, and Celtic soundtrack is wonderful, and that song above couldn't feel better right now. You know I love the wind, so mix it with amazing landscapes, freedom and celtic melodies and that's it. I do not need anythig else.

Going back to the point. I've got to finish two drawings, I know, and I wanna do some projects too, and I don't even know when or how. I just wish I had more time to spend on my drawings..

Hope you'll hear from those drawings soon. (It's been a busy week) But till that day, hope you enjoy this Merida's sketch.

ps. It snowed!! only for a few minutes and not much at all, it didn't even got white, but oh! how I love snow, and those were the first snowflakes I've seen this winter, and the last ones I'll probably see. So understand me when I get overexited about the fact that some snowflakes felt from the sky.
