Feliç Sant Jordi!!
Ha! So tomorrow, actually it will probably be today by the time I finish writing this (it's 23:50 right now). Ok, so on the 23th of April we celebrate Sant Jordi (La Diada de Sant Jordi. You can really escape everything from the wikipedia until you reach the part that talks about "Catalonia"), wich is one of the most wonderful festivities ever. I promise you, it really is.
I bet you know the St. George's legend, well, it all revolves around it.
"The tale says long ago a kingdom was terrified by a horrible dragon. The dragon would eat every single animal from that kingdom, and when there where no more animals left, the people of the kingdom decided that they would sacrifice someone everyday to keep the dragon satisfied and their kingdom, safe.
The name of the one who would be sacrified was found out thanks to a draw, and all names of the kingdom had a chance of being selected, even the king's family.
One day, the name that came out was the princess' name, and that broke the heart of everyone in the kingdom, but they had made a decision, and it should be fair for everyone. The princess was not scared, for her sacrifice would help her people.
She was left alone in the door of that monster's big cave, but before the dragon could open the mouth to eat her, a knight riding a white horse appeared out of nowhere and killed the dragon crossing his heart with a long spear.
When the princess was thanking the knight for his bravery and helping not only her but her kingdom too, suddently, from the blood of the dragon grew a rose bush, from which the knight grabbed one rose and handed it to the princess."
Here comes the tradition according to which the boys have to gift a rose (I'd rather red roses but nowadays you can have them in every single colour) and the girl will gift back a book. (And that's where I'm going with all of this)
The book thing started not so long ago, and it was because of something historically relevant for us and our culture, and the books became, with the roses, the main characters of this festivity. And I can't help to think that it's trully wonderful the fact that it's a day in wich we're celebrating books and reading and how wonderful that is. And the streets from the cities are filled with street stalls with books and roses. And it's like a little wonderful day.
Nowadays, even tough it's true that mostly only guys gift roses, the book thing goes both ways, so if you gift a book you'll most probably be given a book too. Or you can buy it for yourself. It's like a cuter, only roses and books, V-day, from here. 'Cause as you might have guessed, the roses thing works for couples, or people who's closely attached to you, but not for everyone.
And as for the drawing, I didn't have much time, but I wanted to do something special for today (it's been today for 26 minutes now), so I took a break from that one big drawing I'm working on, and did this.
H0pe you all like the poor dragon who was only a little bit hungry. I never understood why a "I don't know who you are" knight that came out of nowhere was the hero, but well, that might be the reason I love pairing the princess and the dragon happy together, without no white knight to destroy their peace.
Goodnight! Hope what I wrote made sense, because I'm 100% sure there are many mistakes, I just don't wanna go through it now, it's late and I need some sleep.
Feliç Sant Jordi!!
ps. You can send me a rose if you want to, it would be nice! :)

The Crow
Her frozen hand
Taskes your breath away
As she ñeads your soul
Through the dark.
You know that she came
To break your heart
But oh when she moves
You fall in love again
She spreads her wings
When she's gonna fly...
The Crow
If you make her sing
When she's coming
She will let you know
She spreads her wings
And they black out the sun
You won't hear her sing
And she'll leave
When the damage is done
The Crow - Hurts
Just a piece inspired by Hurts' new song The Crow, I've had this idea for a while, but today, sketching, it came out like this and I liked it enough to "almost" finish it.
I don't think there's much to say, the lyrics say it all. Hope you like it.

Happy Easter!
"Easter is new beginnings. New life. Easter's about hope." - Bunnymund.
Happy Easter everyone (or Pascua, as we would say here). I don't know if it was quite obvious I would draw Bunnymund from The Guardians to celebrate this Easter. I just tought that the idea of him, happy about having easter and celebrating it was a really nice tought.
I know it would be better if it was warmer, but we are getting there. At least here, you can feel that the weather is, slowly, changing.
Hope you have a wonderful Easter, and weather you collect eggs, eat chocolate cakes, eggs and every single thing you could imagine made of chocolate (we do it here, and we call it "Mona de Pascua") or whatever thing you do this day, hope you enjoy it!
Happy Easter everyone! I'm sure the Easter Bunny will make an exception an eat chocolate today!

Why I was there and what I was meant to do..
.., that I've never known, and a part of me wonders if I ever will.
Saw Rise Of The Guardians again the other day, and as expeted, loved it, again! The fact is that, this time, as I've read the books, there were so many things I knew and why they were there. It broke my heart even more..
There doesn't seem to be anyone able to escape pain in the series, but still, there's joy, there's so much hapiness and trying, even if failing once or twice, or as many times as necessary to finally, get it right.
I've been drawing Jack mostly, and I can't get over the tought of so many years of solitude, of not being belived in, of not knowing why he was there and was able to do what he did, why nobody believed in him.. why the moon didn't talk to him but to tell him his name. But still, Jack is this one character able to find light and joy, no matter how dark the times are, maybe that's why I like him so much, because he never really gives in.
About years of solitude, I'm not going to talk about that big goose I think I spotted twice in the movie, into North place, nor about how Nightlight spend thousands of years all alone into darkness, and I won't even mention Pitch.. ughh
Still dream..

Nightlight and an Old Friend
“Nightlight, bright light,
Sweet dreams I bestow.
Sleep tight, all night.
Forever I will glow”
If you follow me on any other social media, the fact that I'm obsessing about The Guardians of Childhood (and Rise of The Guardians too) won't be anything new to you.
I am really ejoying the tenderness that comes from this books, they're like a little treasure, just as the movie was. They bring me joy, and happiness, but also tears and worries. All the characters in these books have their backround, and they all have had to overcome their own problems to be where they're now. But everything they've been and they've become makes me love them.
If you wanna fill yourself with joy, go see the movie (which actually, came out on DVD yesterday) and read the books! read them! You'll really enjoy yourself, and I know I say I'm crying about their stories a lot, but everything's worth it.
When I finished the first novel of the series, I had to pick another one for university, but no matter how good that author was, it felt empty and cold, and then I realised how warmed inside I felt by this series, and felt even more in love with them. Even though they're not perfect, there's no need, little treasured memories never are, nor drawings.
So hope you like this little drawing I did today. It's Nightlight, who first appears in The Man in the Moon, and who I loved immediatelly, and no, he's not safe from sad stories, but his heart is so gentle it could melt the coldest darkness...
ps. Can yo see the smile on the moon??

Toothiana
A little sketch I posted a few days ago on tumblr but now I've decided to post it here too. I just like the way it easily turned out.
Still drawing RoTG stuff, but it helps when I have to deal with lots of work to do.
This time I didn't make the mistake I made with Pitch's drawing, which started out being only a sketch, but I started paitning it and so, had to finish it, which meant it took me a lot of time, time I do not have. Anyway, enjoyed myself doing that one drawing, as well as I enjoyed myself doing this one. So I guess it's all alright.
Anyway, hope you're having good days, here it feels like spring, the sun is shinning bright, and the sky's blue and there are wonderful big white clouds and it's warm outside. I simply love this time of the year when you feel you're leaving the winter behind. And, as long as I love, trully love autumn, and those days at the end of the summer when you feel autumn's gonna come, I still think Spring is my favourite season.
Counting the days until Spring's here..

The Nightmare King
...just to let in some fresh air.
I've been reading RoTG books, and even though I'm still scraching the surface of everyone's backround, I have already come across a little bit of Pitch's backround and.. oh! so sad, and I guess it's gonna get sadder..
A thing I love about his design is that "his eyes resemble an eclipse" but more than just a "he's the villian thus he hides the sun and light" reference, I feel it's also a "Hiding smth inside" reference. I don't know. Still gotta get through more of his backround.
I loved "The Man On The Moon" story, and cried because of his saddest story, so don't doubt I'll cry too with Pitch's one.
ps. That quote on the top is a reference to the story, may the ones that have read the book understand it, but it won't spoil it if you haven't yet. Btw, go read the books, they're wonderful!!
